Alyssa Fye
Alyssa Fye M.A., CCC-SLP is a board-certified speech-language pathologist with a passion for ensuring communication is accessible for everyone. With a neurodiversity-affirmative approach, Alyssa’s focus is to provide an environment where all children can develop their speech and language needs in natural, self-motivated environments that are engaging and child-centered.
With 7 year’s of prior experience in the public school system, Alyssa has extensive knowledge of special education law and the process of IEPs. Alyssa is familiar with common core state standards and classroom accommodations that can support a child’s ability to access their Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). She also has experience with a repertoire of diverse speech and language needs including, but not limited to: articulation and phonological disorders, receptive/expressive language delays, social-pragmatic language delays, fluency, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She has a high level of experience working with various populations that include autism, ADHD, down syndrome, multiple disabilities, gestalt language learners, cleft palate, and deaf and hard of hearing.
Alyssa has extensive experience and a passion for students with multiple disabilities and emerging communication skills whose primary needs are functional life skills. Alyssa has strong clinical skills with augmentative alternative communication (AAC) and teaching children various communication modalities. Alyssa has extensive training and experience with the following AAC systems: Proloquo2Go, Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), Go Talk Now, Snap Core First, and Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD). She also has experience with alternative access AAC including eye gaze and switches. She is also trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and the Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) technique. Alyssa has a passion for American sign-language, with a goal to become fluent in ASL. She frequently incorporates sign language into her therapy sessions as it can be a powerful tool for emerging communicators.
Alyssa currently holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Cleveland State University and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is licensed to provide speech therapy in the state of California.
