This activity comes with two-part picture scenes. Use this activity in “present” mode and encourage the child to direct your actions by saying “UP” and scroll to the next slide to watch the character climb “UP” the ladder to save the animal. Then “DOWN” to see the character come DOWN the slide with the animal. You can expand this to a 2-word phrase to include the subject (e.g. “boy UP” or “elephant DOWN”).

BONUS IDEAS:

• Create a story around the scene

• Target formulating sentences to include the subject, core word and object (e.g. "boy UP ladder" or "cow DOWN slide")

• Ask follow up WH-questions (e.g. "Who went DOWN the slide?")
